HOLISTIC WELLBEING ADVICE

MASSAGE ADVICE

To get the most out of received treatment you should:

  • Drink plenty of water - to help flush out the toxins that have just been released from the tissue

  • Avoid alcohol or any other stimulants (includes drugs, alcohol, tea, coffee) for at least 12 hours after the   treatment as they will de-hydrate you

  • Rest after the treatment - to allow the body to heal and settle. Gentle walking recommended.

  • Only eat a light meal (possibly a healthy one – vegetarian, vegan)

Remember - prevention is better than cure. Once you show signs of improvement we will continue to work with you to keep harmony and balance already achieved.  A regular treatment, depending on your timetable, will stop future stress accumulating. We encourage you to have regular treatments to prevent illness and maintain a state of well being.

REFLEXOLOGY ADVICE

After treatment you will usually feel relaxed and enjoy the benefits. It is advisable to drink plenty of water, cut down on drinks containing caffeine and eat a light meal. These will help the body to eliminate toxins. Resting will also give the body chance to concentrate on healing. Occasionally, reactions to treatment may occur, however these are mainly due to the toxins being released from the body, as the body is rebalancing and cleansing itself. If for any reason, you feel unsure about the reaction, please don’t hesitate to contact GD Vibes, so that advice can be given and notes added to your consultation form. The following is a list of common reactions:

  • Feeling relaxed and a sense of well being

  • Feeling drowsy or tired, yawning, eyes watering. If tired, go with the feeling and lie down for a rest

  • Increased energy

  • Heightened emotions (high or low)

  • Increased or altered bowel movements, if digestive system has been stimulated

  • Increase in the need to pass urine more often as the kidney flushes out toxins

  • Runny nose, sneezing or nose bleeds

Sometimes you may find that you have a magnification of current symptoms, e.g.

  • Bad back may feel worse before benefits are felt

  • Skin conditions/rashes may become worse before improving

  • A feeling of nausea with stomach problems

  • Cold like symptoms or a cough to clear respiratory problems

  • Arthritic conditions may worsen before feeling easier

These reactions, although uncomfortable, will only be temporary, as the body eliminates the toxins and will usually disappear within 24/48 hours, leaving you feeling refreshed and full of energy. With subsequent treatments, you will usually find that the reactions are milder.  If you should suffer any severe reactions, contact your doctor and notify your therapist.

To get the full benefit from reflexology, you may need a course of treatments, rather than a ‘one off’ in order for full benefits to be achieved. It takes time for the body to heal something which may have been building up for months or years.

HOPI EAR CANDLES ADVICE

Immediately after a treatment, it is generally advisable to:

  • Relax

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Keep the ears warm

It is important to allow the body time to heal.  There is a possibility that you may get a slight headache from sinus pressure change or feel catarrh in the throat as the sinuses clear.  There is also a chance you get a dry throat and mouth as well as itchy ears.  Your bowel movements may increase a well as urination. Your energy levels can increase also.

Long-term after-care advice for the ears includes:

  • Using ear plugs when swimming

  • Not poking anything into the ears

  • Reducing caffeine/salt/dairy intake

  • Increasing water intake

  • Avoiding loud music/earphones etc

  • Using Sodium Bicarbonate ear drops if wax continues  to be a problem

  • Avoiding smoking and/or alcohol

REIKI ADVICE

After a Reiki session it is advisable to go home and relax.  This ensures maximum benefit from the treatment.  Please follow the simple steps below:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Avoid caffeine or alcohol

  • Maintain a healthy diet

In addition to feelings of relaxation and being uplifted, occasionally some people may experience the following after a session:

  • Short-term increase in symptoms

  • Needing to sleep or rest

  • Headache

  • Feeling emotional

  • Increased urination

  • Temporary ‘flu’-like symptoms

These are all positive signs of a body bringing itself back into balance, although it is also completely normal not to experience any of the above. Sometime you may want to journal to help release any emotions that may come up.

HEALY ADVICE

GD Vibes Advice

  • Avoid alcohol or any other stimulants (includes  drugs, tea, coffee) for at least 12 hours after the   treatment as they will de-hydrate you

Additional contraindications taken from The Healy Manual

Microcurrent treatment must not be performed when metallic foreign bodies are in the area of treatment, pace-makers or implanted defibrillators are present, bleeding, or if bleeding or embolism are present. Treatments must not be performed on areas of the skin which have been treated with radiotherapeutic or have a sensory disorder or if the user has a fever.

  • not for use by pregnant women

  • not for use by those with epilepsy

  • do not place the electrodes directly on the eyes, covering the mouth, on the front of the neck (especially the carotid sinus), or on the chest and the upper back or crossing through the heart. (I have also heard not to place the electrodes on open wounds)

Consult a medical professional before using if you have any of these contraindications.

Within the framework of holistic healing approaches, certain interactions (e.g. strengthening of the body's own mechanisms) are possible through frequency application:

  • If amalgam fillings are present in the teeth, the application can lead to a mobilization of heavy metals in the cells of the body --- not directly from the dental fillings themselves --- and thus to a temporary deterioration of the state of health. We therefore recommend that you drink plenty of water in addition to the application and take appropriate measures to support the removal of heavy metals.

  • If you are taking medication at the same time, we recommend that you have the dose checked by your doctor at least once a month, especially if you are taking the following medications:

    • blood thinners

    • antidiabetics

    • blood pressure lowering medication

    • hormones (especially thyroid hormones)

    • beta blockers

Healy and its applications are only suitable for adults.
Too little data is available for the treatment of minors.
Any treatment of minors is the responsibility of the parents or legal guardian or of the attending physician.

Please note – The Healy Coil, which provides a more subtle, cable free harmonisation can be used as an alternative to the above contraindications.

MICRO NEEDLING ADVICE

Before Treatment

  • Come free from make

  • Ensure you do not have recent tan 10 days prior or sunburn.

  • No waxing to treatment area 7 days prior

Immediate aftercare

  • Do not expose yourself to the sun, and avoid sunscreen due to the toxins that may be contained in the lotions, as the skin channels are completely open.

  • Avoid skincare products with active ingredients until the skin has been give time to heal.  These include AHA's, Retinol, Retinal, and other similar agents (check out my blog The Secret to Skin Enhancement with tips on when these can be introduced.

  • Use collagen stimulating peptides to further aid n the stimulation of collagen production.  These can be found in Tropics serums.  Again check out The Secret to Skin Enhancement.

  • Use antioxidant serums to assist in soothing the skin and reducing irritation, such as hyaluronic acid (remaining serum after treatment will be given to you as part of the aftercare)

  • Avoid the use of makeup after treatment and allow your skin to breathe for at least 24 hours.  The skin channels are open  and using makeup bush can penetrate the pores, especially if they are very thin causing further irritation.  Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and consequently lead to infections.  Wait 24-48 hours before applying face makeup to give your skin the recovery time it needs.

  • Use cooling facemask will  help with skin irritation or redness and inflammation, giving you more comfort. Ensure it contains no active ingredients that could irritate the skin. Your best option wold be Hyaluronic acid mask or simply run cool water over a clean washcloth, wring it out and rest it on the skin.

  • Avoid sweating, as the pores will reopen, causing bacteria on your skin to enter, leading to reaction or infection.hydrating.  This will help speed up healing and rejuvenate your skin faster.
