SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish massage incorporates such movements as effleurage, petrissage, tapotement (percussion) and friction throughout the body which forms the basis of many types of massage.

It encourages circulation and removal of toxins, benefiting the organs and improving overall functioning of the body and speed of healing.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Great for improving mobility in the neck and shoulders, removing stress and tension from the head; and increasing circulation to the scalp, improving hair growth.

There are several different options to performing an Indian head massage, from the tradition seated position where the head can be more mobilised, to stretching out the body across the treatment couch whist seated. You also have the option of lying out on the treatment couch.

MASSAGE WITH MACHINE
There are a couple of machines available that can be incorporated into you massage treatment, these help get deeper into the muscles to provide heat or help break down fatty layers of skin. These are: -

Osim I Pamper - This deep tissue massage machine energises the body with a combination of percussion, warm air and negative ions. This penetrates deep into aching muscles to provide instant lasting relief with the added benefit of Swedish Massage.
This is great for tight overworked muscles and can be a less painful alternative to the traditional sports massage.

Percussion Machine - The various circular head attachments in this machine incorporate hard pressure and vibration to help penetrate the deep layers. It stimulates tense muscles to reduce pain and swelling as well as prevent muscle fatigue and hardening for intense exercise and sport.

This will also help promote slimming and weight loss by focusing on areas where fatty deposits sit, helping to break down unwanted cellulite.

REFLEXOLOGY
How you feel affects your whole body. Your posture changes depending on your mood, making you become more slouched when sad or depressed and upright when happy. The same with your feet too! Your soles and surrounding area are literally a map of the body. By applying pressure and stimulating relevant reflex areas you can relieve tension, improve blood flow and nerve supply, which can improve your body’s overall functioning and assist in its healing.
It really is not just a foot massage! This healing art, which is over 4000 years old, has numerous testimonies praising its worth. Many people, who have participated in eastern medicine, know the body’s internal organs and nervous system are connected to various areas of the body, including the feet. It is widely used for healing, so much so, that it has also become a recognised treatment by the NHS.

HOPI EAR CANDLES
Including massage to face, neck and ears
The origins of Hopi Ear Candles came from the Hopi Indian Tribe, who were renowned for their knowledge and therapeutic techniques. There is also history of Egyptians, Mayans and Aztecs using this technique for spiritual cleansing and purifying.
This deeply soothing treatment involves a lit hollow candle being inserted into the ear, which causes heat and vibration to the inner ear. The sounds and frequency is best described like a gentle inner massage, moving along the ear canal and bouncing off the eardrum. This process loosens compacted earwax so that it will drain away naturally through the lymphatic system.

REIKI
Reiki is a laying of hands healing treatment, where the practitioner channels subtle “life force” energy through the body and out of the hands to the recipient. This promotes overall wellbeing by balancing energy flowing through the 7 chakras which are connected to different organs and emotions of the body.

Have you ever heard such phrases as “sick to the stomach”, “broken hearted” or “pain in the neck” the list goes on, and when you are stressed you can feel this in areas of your body, These words show the connections to organs and emotions.
​
It is believed that the technique is well over 2,500 years old, originally came from the Mu people, passed to Tibetan Buddhist monks and rediscovered by Mikao Usui who after many years of study, discovered a way of accessing and using this healing energy, and of passing this ability on to other people by way of attunement.
Vikki who is a qualified Reiki Master, has been practicing Reiki for 15 years is still amazed with the results both herself and her clients experience. “Reiki puts the body in a very relaxed meditative state and reconnects a person with their natural intelligence. It’s like a special piece of information is taken from Reiki Practitioner to client”.
There are various different techniques you can use when giving Reiki; from scanning the body to being guided by spirit. Spinal cleanses may be incorporated, helping the energy flow through the central nervous system. Pendulums can be used, or in addition crystals to amplify the healing process. This can be done in several ways from gridding, to selecting specific crystals that you are drawn to. Symbols can be included to add an energetic focus or a technique that involves balancing the chakras can be used. It is even possible to do Reiki at a distance, as well as sending through your eyes, breath and more.
As a general rule a full treatment will be carried out on a treatment couch and start with hand placements from the front top of the body, working down to the bottom, and then ending on the back, spending time on each area for a few minutes.

HEALY
Healy is a microcurrent device that assists the body by rebalancing its bio energetic systems. This is not the same manner as conventional medicine and so shouldn’t be looked at in the same way. In the UK it is classified as a medical device in the treatment of Fibromyalgia, Pain Management, Sleep Disorders, Anxiety and Depression.

Frequency applications have been developed over decades of research by practitioners and scientists. The safety of this method has been proven by many studies and decades of experience, which have been confirmed by thousands of applications from their own practitioners.
​
Two scientists in particular laid the foundation for Healy in this field many years ago. Professor Robert O Becker, an expert researcher in the field of electrotherapy who wrote “The Body Electric” in 1985, known as the “Bible” of modern electromedical technology. His field of research was in regeneration of organs and organ systems. Also Professor Bjorn Nordenstrom M.D. (1919-2006) in his book “Biologically Closed Electric Circuits” he describes a bioelectric circuit in the body, similar to blood or lymph circulation.
